24-year-old AmenA started singing as a young girl an when she fled Yemen, in the wake of war, music was the only thing that she could take with her to Sweden.

She is still writing her own songs with a process that starts in short fragments, recorded as voice memos that are brought to life together with the producer Stefan Örn from AmenA’s label Argle Bargle studios. AmenA’s unique expression and enchanting voice captivated the swedes when she participated in the popular music competitions Idol and Melodifestivalen, broadcast on national television.
